We are an Independent outdoor company based in the centre of Ludlow ‘The most perfect town in England’* a lively and unspoilt castle town of great character, surrounded by the beautiful and equally unspoiled           countryside of the Welsh Marches.

Our shop is centrally located and easily found, just off the market square which leads from the historic Norman Ludlow Castle at the top of the High Street  Set out over two floors we stock the major outdoor brands along with the pick of independent products ensuring that not only do we meet the needs of all outdoor enthusiasts but offer great value also; additionally we have a large boot and rucsac room and are trained to assist in proper boot fitting and back measuring.

 Walking

Ludlow is set amongst the beautiful, unspoilt South Shropshire countryside making it ideal for walkers. The Mortimer Forest begins below the castle in the town as does the 36 mile Mortimer Trail, there are numerous well marked tracks and trails besides enabling tailor made days out.

To the east of Ludlow are the two Clee Hills offering magnificent views of the Malverns and the Brecon Beacons

whilst to the North are the Stiperstones and at Church Stretton are the Shropshire Hills of Longmynd and beautiful The Carding Mill Valley designated areas of outstanding natural beauty

The Welsh hills are easily reached to the West as is Offas Dyke Trail, some of the most prominent and visible sections of the Dyke can be found heading North from Knighton, only 17 miles from Ludlow.

Mountain Bikes

Mountain bike riding IS permitted in The Mortimer Forest, much of the area is a ‘free zone’ and riders can come and go as they wish.  There are obvious routes and trails to follow as well as excellent off road tracks that have been formed, for the most adventurous head for the specialist downhill section at Bringewood (which has hosted the National Finals!) which can be found to the East of the town at the end of the ‘pipe track’

Further riding is available just a few miles away at Hopton Wood, near Hopton Castle, Clun, here you’ll find twenty miles of colour coded, and route marked riding.
